Pure Inspiration. Latest O’Neill Brothers’ CD is First to Feature All-Original Compositions

 Introducing Inspiration, the 12th album from The O’Neill Brothers and the first collection of their piano originals. The album compiles original compositions from many of the Minnesota-based brothers’ CDs, and includes audience favorites The Bottomless Well, Falling in Love, Wind Dancer, Dance of Youth and Snowflakes.

 On the 11 previous albums they released since 1993, Tim and Ryan O’Neill focused on performing and recording primarily familiar melodies. The titles of songs the brothers have recorded reads like your favorite radio station’s playlist, from Canon in D and Candle in the Wind to Music Box Dancer and Memory.

 But more and more, their fans told the brothers that they  loved the new nuggets of musical gold nestled among the familiar melodies — original songs composed by Tim and Ryan O’Neill. So Inspiration was born.

Each song features The O’Neill Brothers’ unique style of improvisation. “Yes, our songs have a definite melody line,” says Tim. “But improvising allows us a certain avenue of freedom with our music. Trying a different chord or melody line here or there, listening to and adjusting to what the other is playing — it all helps us keep our music dynamic and fresh.
