NEW PRAGUE, MN
(March 4, 2005) —Minnesota-based musicians Tim and Ryan
O’Neill will be featured performers on Twin Cities
Public Television beginning Monday, March 7.
The
piano-playing brothers are featured in a one-hour show,
Irish Pianos with the O’Neill Brothers, which
highlights selections from their three CDs of
Celtic-themed music, Meeting of the Waters, A
Notre Dame Experience, and Here Come the Irish.
Guest musicians will be joining the brothers to perform
songs, including “Danny Boy,” “Molly Malone,” and the
theme from the movie Rudy. Between performances
on their grand pianos, the O’Neill’s will talk about
their lives and careers.
The program
airs on Channel 2 on Monday, March 7, at 2 p.m., during
the station’s spring pledge drive. It will be repeated
on:
Thursday, March 10, at 11 p.m.
Friday, March 11, at 5 a.m.
Monday, March 14, at 11 p.m.
Tuesday, March 15, at 5 a.m.
Television
viewers watching their show this month will have a
chance to receive the musicians’ CDs as a gift for
becoming members of
tpt.
Tim
and Ryan O’Neill, New Prague natives and current Twin
Cities residents, have sold more than 1 million
CDs—without being associated with a major record label.
Along the way, the brothers have written and performed
music for HBO (including music for “Sex and the City”),
NBC and ESPN; and performed for President George H.W.
Bush. In February 2005, their 3 CD Box Set of romantic
songs, From the Heart, hit No. 30 on the
Billboard Catalog Album chart and No 1 on the New Age
Catalog chart. And their wedding album, A Day to
Remember, quickly became the best-selling CD on
weddingchannel.com and theknot.com.
